Trinetra Ganesh Temple is one of the ancient Hindu temples of India, built inside the Ranthambore Fort. It is made of red Karauli stone and Lord Ganesh has been residing in the temple with his whole family (Riddhi Siddhi – his wife, his two sons – Shub and Labh and his ‘vahana’ – the mushak or mouse) since 1300 AD, when King Hammer built this temple. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesh is the God of wealth, wisdom, fortune and education and that’s the reason every year, thousands of letters and wedding invitations are received in this temple.
Devotees sent the letters and invitations to get the divine blessings of Lord Ganesh to start their new life. The temple is just 10 kilometres away from Ranthambore Fort and you can get there easily by catching a taxi or cab from Sawai Madhopur Railway Station or cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi, Ahmedabad etc.
Every day, five types of aartis take place in the temple – Morning Aarti or Prabhat Aarti, Sringar Aarti (9:00 AM), Bhog Aarti (12 noon), Sandhya Aarti (6:30 PM in summers and 5:45 PM in winters) and the last, Shayan Aarti (8:00 PM). You can visit the temple between 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM every day and take part in the prayer chorus with the priests.
The best time to visit the temple is between November and February and the best day is Wednesday as it is assumed to be the day dedicated to Lord Ganesh. It is worth mentioning that every Wednesday, a special prayer is held for God.
